Forgotten Voice handed Nicky Henderson a Royal Ascot winner and also gave Johnny Murtagh his third win of the 2013 Royal Ascot festival, as the 12/1 shot who has been plying his trade in the national hunt arena, was a fine winner of the Wolferton Handicap on Friday afternoon.

Murtagh was always travelling smoothly in ehind the leaders and managed to find the gaps and whilst the hot favourite Albasharah struggled to find a clear path it was the Seven Barrows inmate that kicked for home and managed to fend off Sheikhzayedroad and Bana Wu off in a thrilling finish.

Ryan Moore riding Perfect Stride brilliantly managed to overhaul all the way leader, Moonquake as they got to the line. He won by a neck but it was a brave effort by Frankie Dettori on Moonquake who is always a hard jockey to get by when he takes up the running. Third was Salute Him at 10/1

The Hughie Morrison-trained winner had run well to finish third off a 4lb lower mark on his first try at this trip at York last month and, in a race in which nothing else wanted to go on, he was able to dictate at his own pace, which caused several of his rivals to take a grip. Having stacked the opposition up, he quickened off the final bend and had enough in reserve to hold the challengers.
